Everyone’s journey with fitness is different and each of our trainers have been involved with different forms of exercise over the years and as a result, have developed their own unique passion for fitness. Over the next few weeks we’re going to be sharing each of their journeys with you, this week we’re focusing on Foxy’s
Where it all started
My journey into fitness all began when l started to play football for Yaxley U10’s. I went on to play football for them until U15’s, at which point l switched sports and started to play rugby for Peterborough U16’s
I attended Stanground college and got involved in all the sports l could. I was in the football team, cricket team, basketball team and athletic team. This keen interest in all sports has carried on until this day, much to the annoyance of my wife Isabel.
During year 8 at Stanground college, I was given the opportunity by one of my teachers, Alex Dyer to play my first ever game of rugby. This was on a football pitch and we lost 86 – 0.
Spotted by the Northampton Saints
Luckily from here my rugby career only got better. At U17’s while playing for Peterborough, l was spotted by Northampton Saints and was invited down to join their Colts team.
This was the beginning of my first steps into professional rugby. I was lucky enough to be a full-time professional athlete for 10 years with Northampton Saints. Playing 149 first team games for them.
A new opportunity
I also played semi-professional rugby for Cambridge RUFC and Bedford Blues. It was during my last season with Bedford that I was given the opportunity by my friend Ritchie at Escape fitness to start coaching and training people myself. This was out of their functional training facility in Orton Southgate called Raw32 at the time.
The start of Elevate
This is where myself and Dan met and 7 years later here we are at our own awesome facility, Elevate fitness Peterborough. Doing what we love.
